![]() What’s my pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? I really enjoyed the freedom with project and I didn’t feel limited in my ability to be creative like I sometimes did in other CS classes.Īdditionally, as a positive I’ll finally have learned design patterns for interviews as I have a never been able to force myself to learn them prior. I’ve really enjoyed taking professor Downing’s class and while some of the topics were a little dry *cough json, xml* a lot of the stuff was very useful and interesting. The class all in all has been one of my favorites at UT. After this week I have two finals at the end of the first week of exams, so future Arjun can worry about those. This upcoming week as it has become an ongoing theme will be concerned with a final marathon stretch of studying in preparation of the end of the semester. As I mentioned previously I feel kind of overwhelmed, especially with housing as well as my tests this week I’m a huge basketball fan so not watching the Spurs game Wednesday will be pretty difficult as I have a two tests the following day. So that means I’ll need to secure housing quickly. Additionally I secured housing in NYC for my upcoming summer internship and unfortunately for me the subletter fell through. Our group also finished our presentation, we’re all pretty happy with our end project, which I can’t say the same for some of the other classes I’m in. I mostly finished my security project and neglected studying as hard as I should have for my upcoming tests. This past week, as you’ll see in my next two sections, I didn’t do nearly enough. Nevertheless ,I’m excited for the upcoming summer at Spotify where I can show other interns everything I can do in one line! I didn’t do as well as I liked to but that lies in my discounting the quizzes worth. I’ve still got a few tests ahead of me, but all in all this semester has been really challenging yet enjoyable. However on the exams I felt the opposite to be the case. In addition the freedom the course offers in approaching problems is also incredibly unique in comparison. This is one of the few courses in UTCS that allows you to use your creativity in the projects you do. I would really recommend this course to anyone that can. More over, the stuff in the first half of the semester seems incredibly helpful and useful for my future career. Learning about all the quality of life things that python offers was really cool. Looking back at the pre test 1 work, that was definitely my favorite part of the course. I’ve really enjoyed the pace and topics of the course and more so felt the content of the course a significant breadth as well. Looking back at the semester of software engineering, it’s been a challenging enjoyable ride. Finally done with class for the semester. ![]()
